Project Overview

What?

Understand “Nature of Mind” meditative practices from the Vajrayāna Buddhist tradition in the context of a 3-year retreat.

Why?

These practices are central in Tibetan Buddhism but have not yet been sufficiently studied empirically and longitudinally. They provide a unique and highly effective context for examining the nature of consciousness.

How?

Deploy a multi-disciplinary methodology involving religious studies, phenomenology, cognitive neuroscience, anthropology, philosophy, psychology, molecular biology, and computational phenomenology.

Who?

The NOM International Research Consortium.
